Eddie has made a good point even though this badge
isn't an original. Keep it and treasure it as a memento in the spirit in which is was given to you. Study the information that is available on the forum and in time you will no doubt be in a position to acquire the real thing armed with the knowledge to do so.
Don't be put off by the fact that a lot of the badges you will come across are restrikes or fakes. Handle them and learn from them but don't be tempted to accept that a badge is genuine just because you want it to be, that will only lead to confusion and disappointment.
Remember also that in most cases, a genuine badge would have been worn by a soldier in its time and you will come to appreciate and learn from the history attached to the badge and the unit that it represents.

You will find at least one badge to a regiment that had members serving in the battle of Arnhem. If you can point out one or more from the badges that are still available I will send them to you as additions to your collection.
