Looks to be that of a Colonel formerly of the Queen Alexandra's Royal Army Nursing Corps. Ribbons appear to be those of the Royal Red Cross and General Service Medal 1918-62

Why would he have had to have been Infantry ? The MM was not an award exclusive to the Infantry - members of any regiment could be awarded the MM - god forbid some were even awarded to Women !

Having viewed the photographs again, I stick with my original assessment, still don't like it, very poor quality casting/stamping. Only having the badge in hand would confirm either way

I believe the Sporran/Cantle Badge is smaller than the glengarry badge and may have a single long lug fitting to the rear, I'm sure someone will correct me if i'm wrong

Sorry to disagree but I don't actually like this badge. Casting looks too heavy, slider looks too short and rear definition doesn't look as crisp as I would expect it to.
