Upon disassembly, I may be leaning to Phillip's answer. The plate is about 3 1/2" x 3" and once I removed the FGH center, the holes seem slightly off center. This could be a do-it-yourself creation.

It is a nice wing, I believe it is an UK made one. I had another quite similar to it in a "n" Navigator a few years back. Similar small crown. The wing style is more early war, i think.
