The shield design was replaced Terry,by a facing pair of smaller versions of the cap badge . I'd have to check in Gaylor for a date.
The OSD bugles were originally the same size as the cap badge....

OK Jerry,the AA are cap badges as far as I'm aware. Regimental collar badges were worn by ORs within the Brigade.

Thistles with 2 lugs are part of the old Scots Guards shoulder title. A.single lug is the London Scottish collar badge.

Made me think of something I saw a few weeks ago. An Officers fsc to the 3rd Gurkhas. Another that's double badged. A cord boss to the front and a crowned A to the side .

I've noticed that the copies/ fakes never seem to come with a backplate. Yet,the backplate in most cases was an integral part of the badge,in that it was worn under the badge but above the belt.

Did the PWO have all their winter kit taken off them and given to the Paras at the outset of the Falklands campaign. They were part of Ace mobile force at the time.
