Not good at all, the beret itself is one not seen much, if at all. Even my crap leather banded one which ran into my badge had a leather band on.

I have seen them, but most of these was made outside of the regiment.Late 50's Russell King was making them for the association, along with the car badges,pins etc, which is what I think I have....

I thought it was about an inch under the leather...
I thought it was about an inch under the leather band, the photo's would show it, or am I missing something? I would say the only original piece is the badge.

Returning back to your parent unit you will retain your original cap badge. The SAS is formed from volunteers from other regts and not from civviy street so going back to a unit you would adopt there...
