The white metal badge on the right hand side is a cap badge for the Ministry of Civil Aviation Constabulary (lattery BAA Police before it was done away with).

It looks like the eagle off of an officers cap...

It looks like the eagle off of an officers cap badge. Similar eagles are worn on No 1 uniform by NCO aircrew above the Sgts chevrons on the upper arm but I'd have thought if one of these were used...

Managed to find an answer myself by other means but for anyone who's interested the smaller badge was worn on the shoulderboard above the rank lace.
