OK Jerry,the AA are cap badges as far as I'm aware. Regimental collar badges were worn by ORs within the Brigade.

Thistles with 2 lugs are part of the old Scots Guards shoulder title. A.single lug is the London Scottish collar badge.

Made me think of something I saw a few weeks ago. An Officers fsc to the 3rd Gurkhas. Another that's double badged. A cord boss to the front and a crowned A to the side .

I've noticed that the copies/ fakes never seem to come with a backplate. Yet,the backplate in most cases was an integral part of the badge,in that it was worn under the badge but above the belt.

Did the PWO have all their winter kit taken off them and given to the Paras at the outset of the Falklands campaign. They were part of Ace mobile force at the time.

I wouldn't put it older than 1980 . Buttons Ltd did do much British stuff after the late sixties unless the were doing buttons. I can't think of any of their badges done after the Brigade period.
