The French pattern shako was in grey I assume, as in Griersons book? I have seen a blue on with a GRV badge on and just wanted to rule it out if GRV did not have a blue one.

Yeomanry Pillbox

Bucks, Cheshire, and Yorkshire Dragoons and Hussars. Sometimes only by Band or Trumpeters. I would have to check and see if it was worn by some Regular Cavalry as well.

Bucks Yeo in 1904 went from green to blue uniforms so your cap would have been used then, but only for a couple of years as it looks like they went to standard blue and red 1906ish ...

According to dress regulations it shows that the backing should be black velvet. I think I still have some left if you cant find any.
