except when they are affixed to an identifiable medal.....can theses little MID badges be identified when they are on their own, or do alot of counntry's use similar ones

interesting theory.....

The badges were issued blackened, not for tactical reasons but because the chaplains had adopted black insignia (in Victorian times their uniform frockcoat and forage cap...
