CLB
CLB companies could apply to be recognised as Cadet Corps from 1911. In khaki, they wore a small oval CLB cap badge from c.1913 to 1917. In 1917 (until 1930), the CLB was affiliated to the KRRC and...

B.W.R.C Cadet Corps
Can anyone help identify the B.W.R.C. Cadet Corps?
I have a medal awarded to A. Bruce of the B.W.R.C. Cadet Corps in 1909.
A look through Westlake's Cadet Lists might help.
Thank you.

The first reference I could find to "non school units" was for 1920. It looks as though the top Cadet Unit in the County TFA was awarded the Lucas Tooth Shield and Medals. If the top unit was a...

Lucas Tooth Medal
Here we have a photo of Sir Robert Lucas-Tooth who donated £50,000 to a Training Fund in 1913. A newspaper clip shows that the first medals were introduced in 1916.

I have just read that there was a school section and a non school section so that might be why there were different coloured ribbons. Now to find out which was which.

I would like to know why some medals were blue with red stripes and why others had a watered light blue ribbon.

CLB badges
I can confirm that this badge is for the CLB Junior Training Corps. There is an earlier type which is made from felt with a black backing. This type was used c.1970s.

The round badge that says Church Lads Brigade comes from the belt part of the cross belt, the other badge is from the pouch. They were worn by Warrant Officers and Officers.
