Royal Flying Corps

Would anyone care to pass judgement on this badge from these images?

Genuine or fake?

Thanks in advance for your help,

Andy

Andy,

The badge is a fake IMO, I believe that the base of the crown and the top of the F should be void if I remember rightly:o

Andy,
it's 100% genuine and in superb condition! Gerard is on the right path, the ones to steer clear of are the non voided examples and the ones where the "F" joins the crown with what looks like a small bridge!

This one would put a lot of people off but it is a lovely strike and has super yellow braze, I would have bought it, Kev

I like that and it does show that you should never be afraid of buying mint badges!

Once again I confirm that IMO this badge is pukka, it is surprising how many genuine makers variations there are of the RFC other ranks badge, for a badge which was worn for a relatively short period? Does anyone know how many ORs there would have been between formation and conversation to the RAF?

Beats me why you see so many non-voided badges being bought and those with the F-Crown bridge? When the are so many genuine examples available?....

It does make you wonder why the badges are so expensive!
