Taken c 1994 and surfaced today - very poor quality images from a display in a small museum within the Ashanti Fort in Kumasi, Ghana. Apologies for flash bounce and the fact that the camera focused on the dust on the glass case - rather than the badge. I don't know how rare these items might be. The GCLF title is captioned Gold Coast Local Force (Suspended in 1939). The Gold Coast Regiment Reserve badge is captioned "Badge worn by Reserve between 1928 and 1939". The large badge (about 3 in high as I recall) is (partially captioned "Worn by Native Officers of the GC ..........." There was also a black on green, EonF two line shoulder title reading ROYAL WEST AFRICAN/FRONTIER FORCE captioned "Worn on Battledress by all ranks on the Victory Parade, London 8th June 1946"and the English language proficiency badge (Black E with black ring on red disc) captioned "90 CB 2079 BADGES, PROFICIENCY, E, WORSTED".

Hi Mike, that probably explains this. I've had it in my air force bits as it is on RAF blue but mine is only 4cm across, any ideas? best wishes Mike

That's amazing - I just wish I knew what the missing words in the caption might have been. It cannot have been a badge for some Gold Coast-wide entity otherwise Kumassi would not have featured in the design. How about Constabulary? Mike
