Vickers Security?

1 Attachment(s)
Hello all,

Having acquired a rare VSEL badge for a forum friend, I got a different one for myself. As it was from the same contact at the same time I believe it could be Vickers Security. Can anybody with authority confirm or deny this, please?

Any opinion is, of course, most welcome.

Many thanks,

Phil

Hi Phil

Being in the security game I have never come across this badge, we normally just have security on our caps or just a black hat.

Saying that Vanguard comes to mind or could be a private work place with there own security.

And then could it be American????

Sorry I couldn't have been more help.

Good luck

Paul.

Vickers Security?

Hi Phil, Somehow I don't think it is Vickers as they ceased to be Vickers Engineering in 1922 (I think?) and became Vickers Armstrong who had a distinctive logo of their own. When Vickers Armstrong were broken up (in the 1970's I think) they became Vickers Plc. and also had a distinctive logo of a downward pointing triangle in shades of blue if I recall right, so would expect that to appear on a cap badge. I agree with Jerry it does look motorish but Vauxhall have their own distinctive logo too (some sort of griffin?) which I would have thought would be used. Rolls Royce bought out Vickers Plc and re named it Vinters I believe, so maybe worth investigating in that area?

Regards

Tony
