Rorke's Drift - or something similar

I have noted the discussion about TV programs and their inaccuracies as regards uniforms , badges etc. Maybe the producers of such programs know that they are going to annoy some folk "who know 'and invite the debate. I guess that any discussion is better than no discussion.
That said, when I opened my copy of the Mercury yesterday this picture struck a jarring note. Labelled ,"Rorke's Drift " , it clearly isnt. The boys at the siege would have loved to have had the manpower displayed, even if their rifles were a little old fashioned. Can anyone identify the unit and the action ?
Regards
Mike

Hi Mike
Ya, I was pretty disgusted with that as well. I wrote a scathing note to the paper but it wasn't published today. Probably don't care!
Cheers,
Alex

Could be a BBC production of Rorke's Drift, same military advisor as The Last Post.

Terrible that they so blatantly take an obviously incorrect picture. Not even close to the same time period.

Any reenactors will have their work cut out to beat the 1960s "Culloden" shown on the BBC:
