Very nice and rare item. I wish....

It seems the winner of that auction (at such a ridiculously low price too) has immediately re-consigned it for sale for a huge profit.

Now if only it had been the tunic in this portrait but perhaps I am biased

I viewed this Tunic on display (in a case) at emedals booth at the Etobicoke show on Sat Apl 8. There was no price attached that I could see & I did not enquire.

It was very nice, virtually no wear at all, George VI must not have worn it very much.

I also viewed this tunic at the show. Very little wear to the exterior but once you looked inside you could tell he wore it quite often! I was very impressed with the high level of tailoring that went into the tunic. It was very heavy and absolutely beautiful. They had no price on the jacket as it was already sold

In fact, it was sold only on 09 May for an incredible price.
