I have been looking at the above badge and can not differentiate between Great war issue, WW II issue also O'r and sargeant i am led to believe that they are all different styles and sizes. If anyone can help it would be appreciated.

Hello ED,
Here are my two examples the larger one being worn by Sergeants,note the five voids to the bugle on this badge.

And the blackened brass version was worn until the period just before WW1.

Yes, that's correct. I have seen a lovely photo of the Cameronians in India before WW1 all wearing the blackened brass badge.
