My father may well be in amongst that lot as he served in NW europe and Palestine with 1WG.

Yes, worn on Service Dress caps, he was Colonel of the regiment at the time, on his left is Major Richard Powell and the officer behind them, also in SD, talking to Guardsmen, is Colonel Sir Alex Stanier, who was the battalion's Lieutenant Colonel.

I would be very confident that he would have been, when did he join the regiment and what was he doing in 1944-45, was he a driver or perhaps a gunner?
He would have certainly been kept very busy during the race to Brussels.
The business in Palestine was famously once described as a "painful and thankless task" the clasp on their GSM seems very little in the way of a reward, it was hard earned by so many.
