In the RAF Cadets image - why are some sitting on the grass (informal even by RAF standards!) and what is the sign (equilateral triangle) on the Sgt's left arm? Mike

Perhaps they are recovering from injuries.
( Am I the only one who thinks that Prince Albert bears a striking resemblance to one of the younger members of the current Royal Family ) P.B. |
Question. Why would an RAF cadet receive a Military Medal ???? Could it be that he was infantry before transferring to RAF ???

Picture shows well early RAF officer insignia-and young Prince Albert, with no idea then that one day he would be King George VI. Regards, Paul.

The sergeant wears the RFC cap badge still I think (metal RAF badge not issued until 1919) and is being awarded a long service and good conduct medal. |

Do you mean Prince William or Edward? Both look a little like Albert/George in the right circumstances I think, Peter. |
Thanks Toby :)
