This bi-metal Staffordshire Regiment OR's badge is a recent find, but what is it exactly? Either new metal, PRI/museum shop or fantasy?

Almost 6000 members, 72 views and nobody has a clue? Surely the badge can't be that obscure. Please give it a(nother) look and let me know what you think.

Rgds,

Thomas.

It is commercially made. The regt were still wearing a/a on amalgamation.

I would place it in the "Fakes" box.

Thank you both, it confirms my suspicions.

Definately ,no sign of any cloth backing ever being attached.

I was presented with one of these (see top right of pic) at Whittington Barracks and it had a piece of hardboard backing to represent sacking.

I think quite often the Holland Patch was on a small piece of card inserted behind the badge rather than sewn to it.

Most (South) Staffordshire badges come on the market without the Holland backing, whatever it was made of, and there are many different Holland patches!

Rgds,

Thomas.
