An appalling lack of knowledge regarding 87th Battlion vs 245 Battalion and the difference between King George V and King George VI cyphers on this badge.
It is simply a Canadian Grenadier Guards cap badge - 1930s to 1950s.

Well, if we make it CEF era... it is worth a lot more. Typical kc badge is $5 ish.
(Note: It was quite awhile after Elizabeth's coronation before the Cdn Gren Gds acquired an ERII cypher badge.)

It begs the question, ignorant, or dishonest?

The vendor needs to correct the description as it certainly isn't a CEF cap badge.
Given the resources available, there's no excuse for an incorrect listing for this badge.

In another listing, the same vendor shows that they don't understand what a hallmark is.

I informed the vendor of his error.
He posted the exchange in the Q & A on the listing.

Q: Why are you selling a King George VI era cap badge as a First World War badge. The cypher is clearly King George VI, not King George V.
