Guys,
I'm sure I've seen a thread on here about these, but cannot seem to find it! Was it some form of Home Guard unit? Best regards Andy |

Andy there's an example of this badge in the MM section under Grove.
Cheers Tony. |
Has someone ruined a perfectly good Sharpshooters shoulder title ? Perhaps not.
P.B. |
Was that the one on Ebay recently. I thought about going for it, but I think I remembered there was debate on it's validity.
Regards Simon. |

Thanks Guys,
Spurious or not I'll be keeping this one? Andy |

There are also spurious Warwicks badges with additional letter M`s ( supposedly for Morris Motors ) discussed here:

Sadly the famous company that Swallow Sidecars became is now part of the Tata Group an Indian owned Company.
Can anyone remind me what is still manufactured in this country now by British firms ? P.B. |
You can blame the unions in the 60's for that.

Well back to the badge posted at the start of the thread, I am quite happy with the construction and not something from "The Garden Shed" (not a dig at you Dave!) :D.
The badge and "SS" both look OK to me and probably many were simply relieved of their appendage (?) post H.G. to leave a standard Warwicks badge? Time to start looking for Warwicks badges with slightly longer sliders and the residue of braze to the lower edge of the base scroll! The one shown here appears to have seen very little use so perhaps it escaped the "Cull"? Thanks all! Andy |
Manufacturing . . !
Can anyone remind me what is still manufactured in this country now by British firms ?
P.B. I think from what I keep seeing on my travels along with a lot of the items appearing on this forum, restrikes are part of the GDP. Rob |
