In John Masters book, The Road Past Mandalay, on page 135 he recalls that he was posted to the 111 Indian Infantry Brigade to help form a second long range penetration group. Their formation badge was a snarling leopards head. I have seen this formation sign only once and had no idea what it was, if anybody has this formation sign could they please post it, John.

Wikepedia: A black panther is the melanistic color variant of any big cat species. Black panthers in Asia and Africa are leopards (Panthera pardus), and those in the Americas are black jaguars (Panthera onca)

Not a confirmed identification, but similar signs exist in several collections. Mike

Thanks Mike for the picture of the badge in question. I knew that I had found a picture of the badge on this forum and after a while I found a post by CYMRO showing this badge. I have sent him a private email with the info. Here is a picture of his badge, They seem to come in a facing pair, John.
