I had one of these as early Turkish Republic of North Cyprus Police - got it in a swap with one of their officers late 80s-early 90s. It was cast with wire fittings at the back.

I would be interested if you decide to dispose of it.

Actually its a seller who says it is Arab members of the Palestine Police, which we know it isn't (I think), but I wondered if it was Ottoman Police in Palestine pre 1922ish?

I have the same badge, less coloured centre, which came from the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Police. This was in 1990 while serving with the UN Cyprus.

It is listed as PP in British Colonial Badges Vol II, so until that is corrected it is probably set in stone.

I had an identical badge many years ago and it came to me described as "Turkish Police". Hope this is helpful.

Thanks everyone. I think it's possible it was worn by Ottoman Police in the Ottoman walyat of Greater Syria, but there again maybe only in Cyprus?
