This is one badge missing from K&K. It does feature in Bosleys auction lists but what did it look like? My OTC lists show that the OTC did not exist in 1911 and did not last into WW2.

Found an entry which appears to show it. Does anyone know what it went for?

Alan
I don't have Rawlings, but Bosley's say it is entry 157.

Thanks. £18 seems very reasonable even with the VAT and sellers' commission.

Does anyone know the dates of its use?

Alan

Bath OTC badge.

Hi Alan I am not sure if this entry from a book by R.A. Westlake "A Register of
Territorial Force Cadet Units 1910-1922" will be of use to you. The 4 entries
all seem to show a connection to "The Church lads Brigade". Cheers Andy.

Different unit I think. Mine is a School OTC rather than a regional cadet corps.

Rawlins mentions Bath ( Kings Edwards School),City of Bath School CCF and Bath College ( OTC and CCF ).

Bath College OTC is shown in Westlakes shoulder title book.

This gives an idea of the size of the subject matter for collectors of OTC/ACF/CCF insignia.

Bath OTC and the CLB

There wasn't any connection between Bath OTC and the Church Lads Brigade. The CLB companies were attached to a parish church and in this area would have been part of the Bath and Wells Diocesan Regiment.

While I'm on...Andy...would you do a Westlake look up for me, please? I have a medal to the BWRC Cadet Corps for 1909. Might the Cadet Register indicate what BWRC stands for? Thanks.

Hi there are a couple of schools that are possibilitys but I thought it best to scan all the pages that may apply to your request. Regards Andy.

Thanks to John's PDF which records in words and pictures that Bath College Cadet Corps, later OTC 1908-10, wore the Somerset LI Badge of its local VB unit, I think this is conclusive proof that Rawlin's book has got it wrong and the badge he attributes to Bath OTC is a Bath Police collar badge. The Bath Special police cap badge has exactly same design of shield in it.

The unit are recorded as wearing 1 VB badges in 1901 (collars on side cap). They later had CO 1 SLI's permission to wear the SLI Jellabad badge.
