Hi,

I found recently a badge of the Royal Irish Fusiliers. Please opinions because I do not know whether the original or a copy.

Can you provide a good resolution 3/4 view of the back so that we can see the area where the loops are attached to the badge, that will help

These Glengarry badges to the Fusilier regiments are a minefield because they have been reproduced and copied so much. I find them difficult to judge , I think it might be a reproduction because of the rough edges to the grenade (do you see the areas on the rim of the grenade where the metal is thinned to an edge), the presence of what appear to be flanges (or feet) on the loops and the black discolorations on the back which might indicate an attempt to artificially age the badge.

I have one that displays the same characteristics and I am very suspicious of it.

What do others think?

John

John,
Do the lugs not look newer than the badge? Possible replacements?
Eddie
