Hi,

Interesting group shot. I often wonder the back story of such images?

Very nice too.

Yes, great photo. The man in the middle row, to the left of the girl has 2 wound stripes, but what is the diagonal stripe just above it? Looks like he has at least 3 overseas chevrons on the other sleeve. Looks like they have MGC I shoulder titles?

Oops, sorry had a closer look and the diagonal stripe is a chevron -.good conduct badge I guess.

Looking at the iron fence, which is of a peculiarly English type, the photograph appears to have been taken in England, probably Grantham. Circa 1918 because of the overseas chevrons worn by the man front left.

Is the young lady wearing some sort of uniform, possibly forage corps?

The young lady is wearing the overall dress of the Women's Auxiliary Army Corps or Queen Mary's Auxiliary Army Corps, the stripes running through the centre of the shoulder strap indicating the branch with which she served.

Photo attached.

She may have been working in a clerical/stores job with the men shown at the MGC Depot at Belton Park, Grantham.
