Here's a picture of members of the 1st Royal Australian Naval Bridging Train at Melbourne in 1915 prior to heading off overseas to Gallipoli.

Note the RANBT hat badge in their slouch hats.

Enjoy!

What is even more fascinating is an AWM photo of the guys wearing Navy hat badges on army uniforms, apparently before the distinctive anchor badges were provided.

Here's another picture.

According to the AWM caption he is 363 Private Andrew Peter Johnson of the 1st ROYAL AUSTRALIAN NAVAL BRIDGING TRAIN.

Interesting how he has the rank of Private rather than a naval rank such as Seaman. Could this be an AWM error or did they actually use the rank of Private?

This one however is captioned as:

Portrait of 300 Able Seaman Driver (ABD) Percy William Smith, Royal Australian Navy Bridging Train, sitting outside his dugout at Suvla Bay.
