Never worn by Rhodesian SAS

This badge was never worn by the Rhodesian SAS. They wore British cloth SAS badges in Malaya as shown in many photos.

One dealer in England did have the slider stamped with REUTELER MFG RHOD
and sold them as genuine but they weren't.

Thanks Peter.

From memory, at least, a certain member of this forum used to peddle these as original some time ago now, I suppose a basic clue that they are spurious is simply the presence of the slider, not worn by the Rh SAS.

At first glance it looks like the badge that Gaunt or Firmin sold at their London premises in the 1960's/70's.
It had an OSD finish that could be wiped off with a drop of Brasso (as I proved).

Reuteler said he never made any badges with sliders. The Rhodesians wore British maroon berets and cloth badges in Malaya.

I do hope that few people were taken in by them and by the complete idiot who peddled them.

Idiot?

Frank, with the greatest of respect - surely you mean Criminal? ::confused:

I think the word is appropriate, it buttons tightly over a great many issues, notwithstanding, the word, criminal, is also a perfectly good description.
