1st Ayrshire Yeomanry Leather Helmet , circa 1860
 

Thought to post this years main acquisition. Apparently i need cockerel feathers for the plume to complete ! I cant find much info on it though believe its immediately post Crimea era.... The inside has its silk liner and very fine drawstring which needs re threading.Its possibly unique as I haven't found another surviving example.
