Khaki backed RFC, RAF wings & Navigator brevet
 

Can any members clarify what these 3 items signify??

My understanding is that they may relate to past Service members who have previously earned the qualification but have joined another Service or rejoined the RAF in another Ground trade during WWII.

It think all 3 are genuine.

I look forward to any comments regarding these items.

When I served in the Royal Signals (circa 1950) I vaguely remember a Captain at Catterick who wore these khaki backed RAF wings on his uniform. At the time I assumed he was ex RAF and had transferred or re-enlisted in the Army, but of course didn't dare to ask him.(one didn't in those days !)

There was a period when an Army officer who had previously been trained by and served in the RAF as a blue uniformed pilot, would subsequently wear khaki backed wings on BD and SD Army uniform. Most commonly these were RA officers flying Auster light aircraft as Air OP's, a role later taken on by the Army Air Corps. Other pilots, both RA and AAC wore Army pattern pilot's wings.

I like them. I've heard of these being worn under the circumstances you outlined also, and these three are certainly the most credible examples I have ever come across. I have never seen any other khaki backed brevets, other than the Pilot's, but I don't think I would have any hesitation in buying any of the three you have posted.
