Jewish Brigade.
I recently acquired this title and sign relating to the Jewish Brigade Group. All of these pieces had come from a scrapbook belonging to the mother of 4 or 5 sons who had served in the U.S. military during WW2. The family was active in war bond drives, as well as Jewish causes worldwide during the war
The formation signs were sent home to Mrs Krauss from Italy in 1945 as can be seen. The construction of the Star of David is done in bullion wire which is somewhat unique when compared to other examples I have seen. There is a loop to the reverse so it can hung from the should strap. The JBG title is similar to examples seen before. The documents are what in my opinion make this group very interesting I will let everyone read the content rather than trying to explain. The fake $1 bill as can be seen when opened is a French language anti Jewish diatribe on the financing of the war. I am fairly sure that none of the Krauss son's seen service with the JBG and the signs were picked up along the way. Hope you find this interesting Jack http://i877.photobucket.com/albums/a...psnixj4zjh.jpg http://i877.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps78f3bbss.jpg http://http://i877.photobucket.com/albums/a...psedaimiqj.jpg |

An excellent collection - the shoulder title is particularly desirable. Mike

Very nice Jack. I particularly like the bullion Star of David. Here is a set I have in my collection.

Thanks for the comments Leigh, Mike and Garth.
Garth the armband is interesting. By who and or how was this worn & used? Jack |
Jack,
I think it is for a WO or RSM worn much like the British Army does. Garth |
It is presumably post 1948??

Some wonderful items , I just wish people would not use ordinary staples on cloth items and medal ribbons. I dont know if you can still get them but I use copper staples when needed as they dont leave rusty marks.
