Just happy to potter around these days looking for bits and bobs picked up a nice Officers early 1960 gaunt silver plated motto £15 and a nice 5th with all the bits intact £56. I thought pretty fair price wise, and two weeks ago I picked up a 5th one with loops for £63. I see one trader has a looped up for £130.

Here is a later production of the Gaunt post 1960 S/P (Patt No: 30056). :) With its equivalent production AA.

Your S/P is seen here in the same production period as the chromed belt motto... and the slightly later AA production (note the bit of detail in the ribbon ends).

* The S/P & Chrome would be a brass base metal in die production.... then loops added (S/P) or shanks (Belt).... then dipped for nickel plate...... then dipped again for a silver plate (S/P) or chrome (Belt) finish. So the brass versions from this period (looped/slider) that we see on the market are simply factory blanks that were not completed.

Thanks Griff
Again excellent information if not some what embarrassing that I have so little knowledge on my own Regiments Motto compared to your dedication on the subject again many thanks.
Tony I am always hunting on ebay some of my best finds come from it. The other thing is with pay pal protection if its wrong back it goes not so simple with the auction houses
