Diplomatic Corps gorget patches ?

2 Attachment(s)
I recently bought these gorget patches in a job lot and have been struggling to identify them. I have a feeling that they are diplomatic corps , but dont have any proof of that. They are two different designs . Does that signify different rank ? If so, what rank ?
I know that this is not mainstream militaria, but could be viewed as a "fellow traveller ". Can anyone help ?
Many thanks
Mike

I have (for no particular reason) these images filed away as "Colonial Service gorget patches", but I have nothing else to offer on the subject I'm afraid.

Hi Mike
Looks like you're on the right track, here's a link to Sir Charles Arden-Clarke as Governor of Ghana and he appears to be wearing similar gorgets.

You might check for photos/descriptions of Lords Lieutenant of the various English counties as well - they wear a very ornate 'fellow traveller' type uniform.

Thanks, Gentlemen
I'm guessing that somewhere there is a book which explains the differences. I would hazard that gorget patches to the diplomatic corps is a fairly lonely collecting area and yet it was all part of the decoration showing that Britain was Great. Do the current crop of diplomats wear dark suits ? I'm disappointed if they do.
Regards
Mike
