I have a pair of WW1 Medals to a soldier who served in DARA-SALAM
and unit given as Union Records Section
can any one tell me what cap badge and titles he would have worn if any

Almost certainly the standard SA "Goat in a porthole" badge.

I doubt whether any titles were worn. Have never seen a title for 'Union Records Section'.

According to this web site http://www.trenchfighter.com/40117/295001.html , these were the Records sections in the Union and number of medals issued.

Record Staff Simonstown – 4
Record Staff Rbts Heights – 13
Record Staff Pietermbg – 1

Is it possible that this person served in anouther unit while in Dar-es-salaam? Have you pulled his service records?

Would it be possible to post pictures of the naming on the medals?

I Have found that he was awarded an MID for his service to the South African unattached List also another unit mentioned is M.L.C.

Two Service papers attached

Any photo or info on a badge he would have worn much appreciated
