Peter,
The brassard you have appears in BRCS Dress Regulations for 1942 list as "Brassard for Detachments Not Possessing Uniforms" where it is described as dark blue Petersham edged with one quarter inch scarlet braid bearing the words ""Red Cross" with name of County and number of detachment embroidered in the centre... The brassards are obtainable from Messrs Hobson & Sons, Tooley Street , London Bridge SE1." It does not appear in the August 1945 edition of the same regulations which describe 'A brassard made from blue petersham material with the Society's badge sewn on the centre of the brassard. Two more examples are shown Jon |
Thanks Jon,
A comprehensive answer as always. Regards Peter |
