Insignia from Rennies Shipping Line

I have just acquired some buttons and shoulder boards worn by John Kode, who was an engineer on various Rennies Shipping Line ships. I am posting pictures in case anyone has any of the items sitting in their "yet to be identified "box

Hello,
many thanks for this useful info ;
as complement, find hereby a pic of an original cap badge of this company :
JT Rennie & Sons - Aberdeen Direct Line - Aberdeen Line to Natal

A+

That is a great badge. Clearly seen lots of sea time, which adds to the interest. Its a pity there is not more information available of these old shipping lines
Regards
Mike

There is a fairly new book out called 'Heraldry of the Seas (or oceans...can't remember exactly)'. Not definitive but very useful, has a couple of hundred pics of merchant navy shipping line cap badges and uniforms. At work so can't access my copy to confirm right now.
Cheers,
Alex

Quite unusual shoulder straps there, must be for a junior engineer or 5th engineer I would think.
