Hi

I recently acquired, what I thought was a duplicate VCR boer war badge. Upon closer examination I realised that I have two versions.

The first has the motto "All that was left of them" and the second "Natal" under crown and "Ad Finem" on scroll.

I would appreciate anyone able to shed light?

Thanks

Hi,

Two lovely badges. I can't shed any light on the difference between these two but will watch with interest to see if a more scholarly member can.

Just for interest and comparison I will attach an image of my only example.

Cheerio,

Roy

The second has the regiment's official motto and is an earlier badge, the first would be a little later, with that particular motto being used on the first regimental Christmas card, very nice.

Hello Roy,
I think, certainly from memory, this was discussed in another place, when you bought your VCR some time ago?
Regards Frank
