Hi guys, I've seen this badge in books but now that I have one, I can't find the books or the images :confused:. As I don't collect RAF/RFC stuff what is this badge and what era?

This is very well made and looks like it may be gilded silver although it's only marked J.R.GAUNT.

WAAF Forage Cap badge?

My undersatnding from the late Margaret Nobbs is that this badge was an unofficial forage cap badge worn by WAAFs in overseas areas.
