UK Border Agency Insignia?

Hi all, Anyone out there able to tell me what insignia/badges are worn by the UK border Agency personnel? Specifically officers on the customs cutters, now that they have taken them over from what was HM Customs and Excise/HM Reiciver of Customs.

I am particularly interested in whether they wear any type of cap badge? which, if they do, I assume would be different from the port cullace cap badge worn by HM Customs officers? Additionally what sort of shoulder titles are worn at sea? Executive curl or some other device?

Any information gratefully recieved

Regards Tony

Hi Tony,

We have a UKBA department at the prison where I work.

All of their Officers wear plane clothes/civvys as I suspect it is the nature of the department they are posted to. Maybe they are Senior UKBA staff and uniform is not required?

Sometimes a few of them wear a blue fleece jacket that has the UKBA emblem on it and I have seen one guy that has a badge on his (non void and chrome if I remember rightly). Other than this they all carry warrant card holders on their belts with the leather flap open to show their, forgive me again, either badge or coat of arms.

I can easily find out for you next week as I'd be interested in a badge myself as they are a Government agency that works alongside mine.

Tony, I've now spoken to a few of them at work and they assure me that there are about three different uniforms now, no hats but all with shirts having patches on their shoulders/top arms and a bit American (their words).

They do have a badge on their wallets that they love showing and I've been invited to the head ladies office to see a photo of three of them in full uniform with hats and badge so if I can scan it then I'll get it on here.

Thats great garry, Thanks , look forward to seeing it! Most interested in what is worn onboard on the customs cutters, which have "customs" in big black letters on the sides but are no longer operated by HM customs but by the UK Border Agency?

I popped in to see this photo of them in uniform and now apparently cos of the changes etc, they have to wear uniform at work. Looks like dark blue combat trousers and ribbed jumpers and all that stuff and baseball caps. No metal insignia and just velcro patches saying UKBA, but I reckon one of the 4 or 5 different Depts within must have something like what you want?
