They all look magnificent! Thanks for showing.

I guess this one has anything to do with Hyderabad?

Yes, thank you for sharing these. There seem to be a very large number of 'Hyderabad' badges out there these days and I'm wondering whether perhaps some of them are being invented by canny merchants. The State's forces fought a 5 day conflict with the Indian Army in the 1950s [I think] and their army was disbanded/absorbed into the modern IA. A number of Hyderabad badges can be seen here: http://www.arcticmedals.com/page/page/3730573.htm

Quite a few Indian badges are being invented/faked.. I saw a bucketful with someone in Ooty last year...they keep cropping up all over and I regularly see them in exhibition stalls in India over the last couple of years. All poorly cast copies ..there are title badges as well ...

The title badges of course don't stand up to scrutiny, but a complete novice might be fooled by a well-cast one. It's easier with Indian army badges as one can always says there are cast badges for other ranks and hence the poor quality..enough buyers for a few hundred rupees...

Capitalism at its finest! If you can't find rarities to sell, invent them! This has been going on at least since American GIs captured tons of unassembled German medals in 1945.

In fact, I suspect that somewhere in Imoperial Rome was a little man with a stall who's line was 'Hey, legate! Wan't a deal on a centurion's gold plaque? Won it in Gaul. Hardly scratched at all!' Nudge, nugde, wink, wink.
