Formed by the amalgamation of The 5th (Princess Charlotte of Wales's) Dragoon Guards and the 6th (Inniskilling) Dragoons in 1922. Titled initially 5th/6th Dragoons, changed to 5th Inniskilling Dragoon Guards in 1927. Changed to 5th Royal Inniskilling Dragoon Guards in 1935. Amalgamated 1992 with the 4/7th Royal Dragoon Guards to form The Royal Dragoon Guards.
